Following the success of the 2011 Pennytown Ponds Calendar Competition, it has been decided to hold another competition to create a calendar for 2012, with the theme of Somercotes Old and New.

If you have photographs in your possession showing Somercotes in the past, or would like to take new photographs of places in the parish you consider would make an attractive picture for the new calendar, you can send them to Somercotes Parish Council, Somercotes Parish Hall, Nottingham Road, Somercotes, DE55 4LY, or alternatively bring them into the Parish Hall office between 10.30 am and 2.30 pm Tuesday to Friday.  Please ensure that the picture has the name and telephone number of the provider attached. 

1st prize is £50, 2nd Prize £30 and 3rd prize £20.

The photographs considered the best will be used in the calendar and the names of the donors will be issued with the pictures. 

The deadline for receipt of the competition entries is Friday, 19th August, 2011.
