Due to efficient spending by the Parish Council, money has become available to deliver and develop community improvements which will benefit young and old alike.

The Council plans to install a 25 metre Zip Wire and all-weather gym equipment, comprising a Health Walker, Handle Boat (rower) and other exercise equipment on Somercotes Park in the near future. The all-weather gym equipment can be used by all age ranges, to aid fitness and provide recreational opportunity.

The Council has further allocated ten thousand poundstowards the provision of a multi-user synthetic surface on the old tennis courts on Somercotes Park. The total cost of the project is seventy thousand pounds.

The Parish Council felt that this would enhance the recreational facilities in our community. Sample photos showing the type of equipment to be installed are shown below.
