I hope you have enjoyed the hanging baskets this year.  The Council has been very pleased with them;  they have provided a lovely colourful display and are still going strong.

As we  enter the autumn months I am delighted to announce that the Council has obtained a new contract for the supply of Christmas lights and we are looking forward to a sparkling display over the festive period. 

Part of the response to the Climate Change Emergency by  Amber Valley Borough Council was its commitment to planting  20000 trees.  The Parish Council completely supports this and at its last meeting resolved to allocate £1000 to plant fruit trees throughout its allotments. 

Moving to other issues, the Planning Board of Amber Valley Borough Council has refused the application for 99 houses at Pye Bridge.  The Parish Council along with many residents had objected strongly to this proposal and as a consequence we are delighted at this decision.    The Council will continue to oppose inappropriate planning proposals whenever they are made, whether it’s to  safeguard the well- being of residents and/or  preserve the character of the parish.
