Derbyshire County Council has a long term waste management contract with Resource Recovery Solutions (Derbyshire) Ltd (RRS). As part of this contract the contractor provides some funding for environmental projects in local communities surrounding the waste facilities they operate. One of those facilities is Clover Nook Waste Transfer Station which is located at Grange Close, Alfreton, DE55 4RF.
RRS is keen to encourage environmental work in Derbyshire and has a yearly fund up to £1000 for projects to improve the local environment. Applications are open to any community organisation, school or charity located in the area surround Clover Nook Industrial Estate.
Applications for funding must:
Directly benefit people living in the local neighbourhood.
Show that the project and/or activity has been developed and designed by local people.
Be used for the purchase or refurbishment of community assets, accessible to the widest number of people within the local community, but not the purchase of "services" (with the exception of installation or delivery costs).
Show that the project will be complete by the end of March 2019.
The funding is not available for:
The purchase of "services" (with the exception of the costs of installation or delivery).
Replacing, enhancing or subsidising any council service or statutory service (e.g. provision of skips or the cost of one off "clean ups")
Purchasing an asset, the provision of which, is the responsibility of the Council or another statutory body.
Items primarily religious or political in nature.
Applications will be judged on their ability to achieve the best value for money in terms of impact on the local environment and reach in the local community. Further details can be obtained from emma.ray@renewi.com Telephone No: 01332 545689
