The Parish Council were delighted to welcome parishioners to the Annual Carol Service held on 15th December 2017 in the Parish Church of St. Thomas.

Following short introductions from Reverend Imogen Black and Councillor Paul Lewis, the service began.

The Carols were performed by members of Somercotes Brownies, Girl Guides and Rainbows; ably accompanied by the Heage Band.

Following the service, the children received selection boxes from the Parish Council and the celebrations continued into the Village Hall where refreshments were provided.

The collection following the service raised £216 for the Chairman’s nominated charity this year which was Somercotes Girl Guides. They are currently raising money for a trip to India, so this was a very welcome contribution.
