Hardyal Dhindsa, the Police and Crime Commissioner visited Somercotes Village Hall on the 21 July 2017 to find out what policing and community issues were important to you. The local Safer Neighbourhoods Policing Team were also present. The Commissioner was welcomed by Councillor Paul Smith on behalf of the Parish Council.
The Commissioner outlined his five year policing plan for Derbyshire together with a number of pledges he had made as Commissioner.
After responding to a number of questions from the audience, Hardyal advised that a new service called ‘Derbyshire Alert’ had recently been introduced. This allows residents to receive news and appeals, local crime information, and prevention advice to their personal email account.
To register for this service; follow the link www.derbyshirealert.co.uk. You can also view the Commissioners pledges and five year policing plan for Derbyshire at the following location: www.derbyshire-pcc.gov.uk
