Somercotes Parish Council offers a warm welcome to the Curry Lounge, Market Place, Somercotes.

The Curry Lounge, which is situated at the rear of the Council’s Market Place Car Park officially opened on Tuesday 25th April 2017.  The Mayor of Amber Valley Mr Richard Iliffe conducted the ceremony with the help of Councillor Paul Smith (Somercotes Parish Council Chairman).  Some Parish Council Members were among the invited guests.

Ukil and Sham and the most talented Chef Saeed head up the team.  Ukil has been in the restaurant business since 1995, having recently owned and managed a business in Manchester.  The building, previously owned by Groundwork Toolbox, which had been empty for some time presented an opportunity to open the restaurant in Somercotes.  Ukil and Saeed’s wealth of experience is evident.

The staff are very smartly dressed and provide a professional service.  The decor has a contemporary feel with a purple and white colour scheme with feature chandeliers.  The atmosphere is warm, inviting and relaxing.  The restaurant is very spacious.

Ukil and his team are proud that the restaurant uses authentic ingredients for their dishes including their own blends of ground spices.  They provide mouth-watering dishes that are true to the cuisine of India.

A great local place to eat, with ample free parking.
