Parish Council Take Control Of Local Car Parks

From April 2010 the car parks on Mill Street and the Market Place at Somercotes will be taken over by the Parish Council, to avoid parking charges. Amber Valley Borough Council approached all the Parish and Town Councils regarding the transfer of the car parks from themselves. by Parish Council on Friday 5 February 2010
If the Parish Council had not agreed to the transfer, pay and display machines would have been installed on both car parks by the Borough Council from 1st April this year.
The Parish Council has been informed that the car parks will be transferred in their present condition.
