On Monday, 12^th November, 2012, the Parish Council had installed a solar lamp system on a pole at the Winding Wheel on Nottingham Road (opposite Car Wash), Somercotes, so that the feature was lit up at night and could be seen by those entering the village during the hours of darkness. 

Unfortunately, the whole system, valued at £420.00, was found to be missing on the morning of Thursday, 15^th November. 

The Parish Council is extremely disappointed that person or persons unknown would steal something that was there to improve part of the Somercotes local history.  Any information on the theft of the equipment or its current whereabouts should be notified to the Police.
