Thank you to Mr Roy Padley for sharing this photograph of Riddings Brass Band providing the music for a documentary in September 1982.

The documentary was a 53 minute film called ‘A Clearing in the Woods’. The film was centred round the lives of former workers at Riddings Ironworks.

Filming took place at the former Ironworks at the bottom of Lower Somercotes, and Roy tells us that the Musical Director was Mr Wilf Saint.
