Somerlea Park Community Centre has recently had installed a multi-sports synthetic surface thanks to Biffa funding of £50k for which the charity is extremely grateful. There has been a tremendous interest in the project with may bookings being taken. The project is still on-going with the need to install catch-ball fencing and a new car park area that will have geo-grid matting allowing grass to grow it so maintaing 'green space'. The Charity would like to thank Somercotes Parish Council, AV Community Safety Partnership and AVBC for their support of the community project that will cost around £100k.
