Somercotes Choral Society Celebrated Their Diamond Anniversary In 2011
The original choir was formed in September 1951 by the late Wilfred Clarke, who had a distinguished career as a singer and voice coach. His son, Jeff, has been a member of the choir for many years. There were originally 20 members, and by 1974 the choir had grown to more than 60 singers. Their next production will be “A Musical Century” on Saturday, 28th April, 2012, at South Normanton Post Mill Centre.
If you would like to sing with them, the Choral Society rehearses at Swanwick School and Sports College (formerly the Delves) at 7.15 pm on Tuesday evenings. You can contact the choir Secretary, Jen Adams, for any additional information. Tel: 01773 789079 or email: jenadams24@yahoo.co.uk
